Alice is a poor woman who has to care for her ailing husband and two little children. She does coir works at home. Her work depends on the availability of raw materials from the nearby coir factory and most of the days she has no work. With her meager earnings she struggles hard to make both ends meet.
Her husband Clarence was a fisherman by occupation. Unfortunately now he is a cancer patient and has severe nervous problems. Doctors suggested complete rest otherwise his cerebral nerves will break. So he is not going for fishing, which needs much physical exertion. Unable to withstand the hardships of his poor wife he learnt driving with the help of some friends and goes occasionally for auto driving. After paying the rent he earns little amount, which at least hardly fulfill his daily medical needs. He is under strict medication, which is beyond the limitations of this poverty stricken family.
Their son Claisaldon completed his 10th grade and daughter Clintadonna is studying in the 9th grade. The poor parents are very much worried about the future of their growing kids. They often find it paining that they could not fulfill their children’s arising needs.
This family is staying in a semi-permanent hut made with paper sheeting. Their life inside it is really miserable. During the summer it is horrible to withstand the heat of the sun and during Monsoon water rushes in through the cracks and holes of the roof.
A proper shelter and medicinal needs are the major requirements of this destitute family. They are looking for some kind help to come out of the deep pool of misery.
