Vocational Training Fund
Allaphuzah. is an area where properly trained young men and women can find work. It's finding proper affordable training for that work that continues the cycle of poverty for many of our families.
The Franciscan Family Apostolate supports vocational training that aids young people to get stable, well-paying employment. Even in its infancy, this program is meeting with success. As of October 2006, there were eleven students in training; four are proceeding with hotel management training in Bangalore and seven students in computer training for which there is a large market in India. Other students are pursuing training in carpentry and other trade skills.
We will continue to monitor the progress of these students and to explore other areas of training that seem promising for stable careers for these young people.
