Housing Fund
There is probably no greater help that you can give a family than to build them a house. Our housing program is our most successful. It is tangible. You can see it standing in front of you when finished. Not only that, there is a physical and psychological change in the family themselves. It is probably the closest icon of redemption from poverty that a family can have. Each house consists of a living room, bedroom, kitchen, verandah, toilet and bathing room totaling about 350 square feet.

There are two ways that you can build a house for a family.
- The first and most direct way is by paying the full cost. The house is built as soon as possible. Much depends on the weather. The 2006-7 cost to the donor is $2475.00
- The second way is through our housing program which is subsidized by our community development fund permitting the construction of about 13 houses per year.
- In the subsidised housing program, the family usually pays a small part of the building cost. A donor can opt to pay the family's share if the family does not have sufficient funds. Families who have been assisted by a sponsor for some time would be more likely to have funds in their accounts to cover this cost than those just starting on support.
