    Donation FAQ

    1. How do the funds get to the proper program?
When we send funds to India, careful records are kept to insure that your donation goes to the program for which you intended it.

    2. How much of my donation actually gets to the program?
Approximately 85% is sent to India for your family's gift; the balance is used for administrative expenses and community development projects which will also benefit your family.

If you are using Paypal to remit your donation please add 4% to your donation (approximately $1 for a $25 donation) to cover the PalPal charges.

    3. What is the Community Development Fund?
This fund is a pool fund that accumulates over the year. The decision as to where this should go is decided on by the FFA Board of Directors at the annual meeting. For the last five years it has gone to housing construction, monsoon relief and the medical fund for our families.

    4. How do you decide what programs are needed?
Over the years we have learned what programs seem to help the most families over the long term, especially those programs that help them to rise from poverty. We also try to respond to special needs as they arise, for instance, the tsunami a few years ago prompted a great deal of activity to help affected families.
The Board of Directors considers programs suggested by the board of directors and the office in India as well as from the reports of those board members who visited India most recently. Programs are chosen based on need and funds available.
